Getting it going
Check the gear is Android
Do this first and spare yourself a pointless download: an Apple TV, a Samsung or an LG cannot run TiViMate, so use Smarters there. What you want is a Firestick, an Android box, an Android TV or a Google TV.
Install it
Play Store on Android TV and Google TV, an ordinary install. A Firestick has no Play Store, so it sideloads through Downloader in the exact way the Firestick guide describes.
Hand it the Xtream login
Open it, choose Add playlist, then Xtream Codes login, and give it the server address, username and password before pressing Next. There is no M3U field and you do not need one.
Name it and pull the guide
Give the playlist a name you would recognise if a second one ever joins it, then let the channels and grid come down. In Settings, TV guide, set the refresh to twelve hours; the EPG travels with the login, so there is no separate URL to hunt for.
Weigh Premium, then test a match
Here is where everyone stumbles: Premium is bought in the separate TiViMate Companion app on a phone, not on the TV. It runs about $6 a year, or a one-off lifetime licence, with a week to trial recording and the split view. Load a live game afterwards to be sure the guide lines up.
When the picture plays up
It says the playlist could not be loaded
Two checks, in this order: that the server address still carries its port, and that the plan has not lapsed. Then retype the password by hand — pasting it from a chat drags an invisible space along roughly half the time.
The grid reads no information
Force a refresh via Settings, TV guide, Update now, and relaunch. On a large list, a first guide build can also just need more time than people are willing to give it.
