Getting it going
Free or paid — call it now
IPTV Smarters Player is free on both iOS and tvOS and does everything you need. iPlayTV and GSE Smart IPTV cost a couple of dollars and present the list a touch more nicely. Pick one, and swerve anything named TiviMato or Tivimax.
Open the App Store
On an Apple TV it is on the home screen; on an iPhone or iPad it is the familiar blue icon.
Install the player
Search the app you settled on and install it. On an Apple TV you can even start the install from your phone and watch it appear on the box.
Sign in with Xtream Codes
Open the app, pick the Xtream Codes option, and put in the username, password and server address. On an iPhone you can paste each one directly from the WhatsApp thread, which stamps out typing errors.
Verify it, and AirPlay if it helps
Play a channel and give it a moment. From an iPhone you can then AirPlay to an Apple TV or any AirPlay-capable set in the room — handy if you would rather not install a thing on the TV itself.
When the picture plays up
The list loads but a channel refuses to play
A few channels use codecs Apple only decodes with the right engine behind them. Change the player engine to VLC or FFmpeg in the settings and it comes right.

Is there IPTV Smarters for Apple TV?
Yes, free on the tvOS App Store, with the Xtream login, the guide, catch-up and on-demand all present. TiViMate genuinely does not exist on Apple TV, whatever the copycat listings would have you believe.
Can I watch on my Mac?
Three ways: IPTV Smarters Player from the Mac App Store, the M3U link opened in VLC or IINA, or the browser player. The Windows and Mac guide covers each in turn.
